Tunku
became the UMNO
President on 26 August 1951 succeeding Dato Onn Jaafar.
His Efforts in overcoming the country's political problems
with the co-operation of the various ethnic groups saw the
birth of the Alliance party, under his leadership, won the
country's first general elections and Tunku was appointed
Cheif Minister and Minister of Home Affairs.
Tunku
worked and acheived independence for the country on 31st
August 1957. Ha was appointed the First Prime Minister on
the same date. During his prime ministership, Malaysia was
formed in 1963. His contributions and sacrifices for the
independance earned for the Tunku the tittle 'Father of
Independance'.

Tun
Abdul Razak entered politics after serving the Pahang
State Government. Tun Abdul Razak had been head of UMNO
Youth and Deputy President of UMNO.
Before becoming Prime Minister, Tun Abduk Razak was
Minister of Education, Defence, Home Affairs, Rural
Development and Deputy Prime Minister.
Tun
Abdul Razak introduced the National Education Policy. He
was responsible for formulating the development policy
known as 'The Red Book'. Along with the Tunku, Tun Abdul
Razak paved the way for the formation of Malaysia. Tun
Abdul Razak is reknown for the New Economic Policy
launched in 1971, soon after he beame Prime Minister in
July 1970. Tun Abdul Razak is credited for the formation
of the National Front or Barisan Nasional. For his
contribution in the area of national and rural development
Tun Abdul Razak is known as the 'Father of Development'.

Tun
Hussein Onn's political career began when he was appointed
as the first leader of UMNO
Youth in 1949 and subsequently as UMNO's Secrerary-General.
In 1970 he was appointed Minister of Education and Deputy
Prime Minister concurrently holding the portfolios of
Finance and Public Enterprises. His meteoric rise in the
government and politics was due to his untiring efforts.
Tun
Hussein Onn became Prime Minister on 15 January 1976. He
stressed on the issue of unity through policies aimed to
rectify economic imbalances between the communities. On
20th April 1981 the National Unit Trust Scheme was
launched. Tun Hussein Onn gave serious consieration to the
concept of Rukun Tetangga and to the fight against the dadah
(drug) manace. For his efforts in cultivating goodwill
among the various ethnic communities, Tun Hussein Onn is
remembered as the 'Father of Unity'.

Dato
Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad was born on 1925 in Alor Setar -
a small town in Kedah,
16 years before the Japanese invasion. During the Japanese
rule, he opened a Pisang Goreng (fried banana)
store to make a living. Later he opened a coffee stall
with a few partners. Not so long after the Japenese left,
he continued his studies and eventually became a doctor.
His
political career started when he was elected as the town
councillor in Alor Setar on 1957. From there, he continued
his political endeavour until he finally became Prime
Minister of Malaysia since 1981 until now.
Under
his leadership, various policies of the past prime
ministers were continued. In addition, further development
in the technology field especially information technology
was carried out. For example, he was the brain child of Multimedia
Super Corridor and a few smart cities like Cyberjaya
and Putrajaya.
